The challenge to design the a market-rate townhome development for a team of young entrepreneurs who wished to make an architectural statement was answered with a study in elegant restraint.  The design team modelled the project to maximize the built envelope within the zoning constraints, while steadily teasing the fenestration to achieve ideal proportions.  The result is a building at once ordered with stunning clarity, and possessing highly livable plans which thrive on surprising amounts of daylight and useful space.  The four-unit project sold out in less than two weeks, while setting a price per square foot record for the type.
